From the moment you find yourself on the picturesque Naramata Road you will feel like you have entered another world. You will experience lovely views of Okanagan Lake, Summerland and the mountains beyond as well as orchards, vineyards and wineries while you are transported to paradise.
Once you have arrived at A Country Hideaway sit where you have parked your car and enjoy the view. When you're ready, enter the garden gate and you will feel like you have come home.
In the fall or winter come in to your cozy and warm, private suite, with a fire in the stove and music playing in the background.
In the summer or spring you'll be just in time for Happy Hour perhaps out on the verandah. Have dinner out at the restaurant of your choice and then come back to your suite and settle in.
Sleep soundly between cotton sheets and a big fluffy down duvet. In the morning sit down to a beautifully decorated breakfast table. Your breakfast will come to you in the dining room, or in nice weather, outside on the covered verandah. All breakfasts are accompanied with homemade jams and jellies, syrups, a pitcher of juice and tea or coffee. A typical fare may be Roasted Tomato Basil Brie Gratin. Our menus change seasonally, but regardless, expect something special.
Fill your day with whatever activity you choose; hiking along the KVR, biking in any number of trails, touring and tasting at our fine wineries, picking lavender, playing in the water, sun tanning, golfing, rock climbing...
In the evening, refresh yourself and prepare for another culinary feast. Bring your favourite wine collected during your day and let us do the rest. When the weather is warm, have dinner on the verandah. Enjoy the gorgeous view of the lake and mountains beyond, watch the sun set, and listen to the crickets chirp. When the weather is not so warm, the view from the dining room is equally as enchanting.
Your host Peggie Collins will delight your senses with her food selections, both beautiful to look at and scrumptious to taste! Your dinner will include an appetizer, soup or salad, entrée, and dessert. Afterwards, take a leisurely walk, curl up on the lounge chairs at the fireside, and stargaze. Later, enjoy a soak in the hot tub or just go straight to bed.
Wake up the next morning to another wonderful breakfast! Following check-out you could visit some of the galleries or wineries on the way back to Penticton before your journey home. You will return from your getaway relaxed and refreshed.
